I think love, mostly,
is about the natural heart
with the small habits in people,
and their timing.
Lately, I’ve been reading quiet poems
about crawling into bed
and finding your favourite mouth
leaking a soft light through a sandstorm.
This is a big deal for me,
because I have always been about finding explosions.
I have always been about screaming with volcanos
and dirt underneath my fingernails.
But I met you,
and now there are dunes on my thighs
made of silk.
I met you,
and I have never been opened as softly as this.
If I could ever learn to settle a storm,
it would be now.

The most beautiful part of a man’s body
I think it must be there,
where the torso sits on and, into the hips,
those twin delineating curves,
feminine in grace, girdling the trunk,
guiding the eyes downwards
to their intersection,
the point of pleasure.Duane Michals, 1986
Arizona’s Grand Canyon is a natural formation distinguished by its layered bands of red rock and its vast scale, averaging 10 miles across and a mile deep along its 277-mile length. Much of the area is a national park. With sweeping vistas, it’s a destination for hiking, mule rides, camping and aerial tours, plus white-water rafting on the Colorado River.

I know you left me and I know it hurts like hell.
But after everything, I’m still on your side. And I hope you’re still on mine.
But I also hope you realize what you walked away from, because who else is going to love you like I do?
